On May 14, Merrick, New York Entrepreneur, William Levine, participated in a Roundtable Meeting at the U.S. Senate to advocate for veteran owned business.  The meeting included an introduction from John Kerry (D-Mass) who is chairman of the Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship for the 110^th Congress. The day after, emergency funding of $500,000 from the federal government was released to help for veterans outreach programs

Bill Levine, a disabled veteran of the Vietnam War and President of WL Concepts and Productions in Uniondale & Freeport New York, addressed the committee on reducing unemployment and increasing business opportunities for veterans.  Levine is a previous client of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and credits them with assisting him in his rise to success.
